Caritas Works is Virginia’s ONLY full-service, full-time ‘furniture bank.’ Just as a food bank distributes food to those who need it most, a furniture bank does the same with beds, mattresses, tables, & chairs. Working with its area partners like Freedom House, the Daily Planet and Virginia Supportive Housing, to name three, Caritas Works provides furniture and essential housewares to more than 200 households (over 500 individuals) per year. Its 25,000 square foot warehouse is located just across the James River from LaDiff, and it is here that they store YOUR donations until they find a home.

Friday, September 25th – Sunday, October 4th, you’ll find a POD in our parking lot on Dock Street that stands ready & waiting to collect YOUR donations to Caritas as part of their City-Wide Furniture Drive.

Get 10% off one item, per item donated, and 20% off a NEW mattress for mattress donations

During this furniture drive period, as a thank you for your Furniture Drive donation, LaDIFF will give you DISCOUNTS on NEW, cool furniture for YOU! Simply tell your salesperson you have a donation ready for pick up or bring your Caritas donation receipt with you when you shop. We’ll keep a copy of it in exchange for your coupons!

Give and Receive

For each gently used furniture item donated, LaDIFF will give you a coupon for 10% off* one item. For each acceptable mattress donation, you’ll get 20% off* a new mattress. Your discount coupons will be good toward any regularly priced items, stock or special orders. They are valid 30 days after distribution. (and if bringing your items to the POD won’t work, and you need a pick-up instead, just call us! We’ll work it out!)

Want to hold on to your ‘old’ item until your new piece arrives? We can work with you on that. You will be asked to sign a ‘commitment to donate’ form when you make your purchase, and we will arrange to make the exchange with you when your special order arrives and/or delivery is ready.
