On Thursday, November 8, 2007, LaDifférence was honored to sponsor and host forty one, a major fundraiser held to benefit for Noah’s Children. Founded in 1997 by Dr. Bob Archuleta, Noah’s Children serves a critical need as Central Virginia’s only pediatric hospice and palliative care program.
What started as a small wine & cheese party to introduce LaDiff’s newest vendor Italian design house Kartell to the Richmond market turned into an innovative, colorful fashion show, sponsored by LaDifférence and SunTrust Bank.
Guests enjoyed elegant hors d’oeuvres by Silver Spoon Catering, paired with wine tastings by Robin Cellars, before taking their seats around the catwalk in LaDiff’s transformed indoor parking garage.
The lights dimmed, the music started, and a secret voice began to announce the first models: the cool furniture from Kartell, starring the gold Bourgie table lamp.
Following Kartell’s dramatic introduction, models - grown-ups and children - contributed by Modelogic [Wilhemina] sauntered down the catwalk, displaying beautiful winter fashions provided by Franco’s Fine Clothing.
A host of volunteers, including LaDiff staff, former LaDiffers, and lots of LaDiff friends made sure that everything ran perfectly.
Through a live auction, ticket sales, and additional donations, over $50,000 was raised through this special event.
Why ‘forty one’? For 40 days Noah’s ark and its inhabitants endured the worst storms possible. On the 41st day, Noah and his family found a period of calm. This is what Dr. Archuleta’s wonderful organization sets out to do: provide to families a period of calm and nurturing following a catastrophic illness. To learn more, please call 804-213-0360. |
