LaDiff was at the Home & Garden show, in February of 2009, showcasing our green story!
LaDiff showcased our ever-growing green story, featuring some of our most eco-friendly manufacturers. We know that being green isn't easy. It's a learning process, and LaDiff opened up the floor to engage customers, vendors and ourselves in a dialogue about what we can all do to improve our impact on the environment and sustain a healthy community. As a charter member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC), LaDiff is always ready to listen, learn, and share what we know and what we're up to.

4.19.08 : Retailers 4 Life: RMA's Organ Donor Sign-Up Day |
The Retail Merchants Association partnered with the Donate Life Partnership during the month of April 2008 to increase awareness and encourage Organ Donation. RMA members, including LaDifférence, offered their retail locations as places where customers can further their education about the importance of Organ Donation as well as sign up to become Organ Donors.
Saturday, April 19th was regionally promoted as “Retail Merchants Association’s Donor Sign-Up Day.” Customers wishing to become Organ Donors may do so on-line or via the mail; both of which will maintain confidentiality. Donation and organ transplantation saves lives. One organ donor can save 7 lives, restore sight to two people and help many others. Four Virginians die each week waiting for a life-saving organ transplant that doesn’t come in time.

11.8.07 : forty one: A Benefit for Noah's Children |
 |
 |
On Thursday, November 8, 2007, LaDifférence was honored to sponsor and host forty one, a major fundraiser held to benefit for Noah’s Children. Founded in 1997 by Dr. Bob Archuleta, Noah’s Children serves a critical need as Central Virginia’s only pediatric hospice and palliative care program.
What started as a small wine & cheese party to introduce LaDiff’s newest vendor Italian design house Kartell to the Richmond market turned into an innovative, colorful fashion show, sponsored by LaDifférence and SunTrust Bank.
Guests enjoyed elegant hors d’oeuvres by Silver Spoon Catering, paired with wine tastings by Robin Cellars, before taking their seats around the catwalk in LaDiff’s transformed indoor parking garage.
The lights dimmed, the music started, and a secret voice began to announce the first models: the cool furniture from Kartell, starring the gold Bourgie table lamp.
Following Kartell’s dramatic introduction, models - grown-ups and children - contributed by Modelogic [Wilhemina] sauntered down the catwalk, displaying beautiful winter fashions provided by Franco’s Fine Clothing.
A host of volunteers, including LaDiff staff, former LaDiffers, and lots of LaDiff friends made sure that everything ran perfectly.
Through a live auction, ticket sales, and additional donations, over $50,000 was raised through this special event.
Why ‘forty one’? For 40 days Noah’s ark and its inhabitants endured the worst storms possible. On the 41st day, Noah and his family found a period of calm. This is what Dr. Archuleta’s wonderful organization sets out to do: provide to families a period of calm and nurturing following a catastrophic illness. To learn more, please call 804-213-0360. |
